Are you a Politically Exposed Person (PEP)?
What is a PEP?

A Politically Exposed Person (PEP) is someone who holds, or has held within the past 12 months, a prominent public position — or is an immediate family member or close associate of such a person. This includes:

  • Heads of state & government — the President, Vice President, and former holders
  • Ministers, deputy ministers & assistant ministers — federal or state level
  • State Governors and Deputy Governors
  • Members of the National Assembly — Senators, House members
  • Senior judiciary — Supreme Court & Court of Appeal justices, Chief Judges
  • Senior military & police officers — CDS, Service Chiefs, IGP and equivalents
  • Senior executives of state-owned corporations & political party officials
  • Senior officials of international organisations — UN, ECOWAS, African Union
  • Immediate family & close associates of any of the above

Why we ask: Nigerian AML/CFT regulation requires Enhanced Due Diligence on PEPs. Answering "Yes" does not disqualify you — it simply routes your account through additional verification by our compliance team.

Your answer is encrypted and visible only to our compliance team under NDPA 2023.
